Quite a bit has happened since the Gunn HS students voted for the new Wildflowers color scheme. The School Board reviewed the project and approved the funds to paint the buildings this summer. One of the school board members sagely noted during the first School Board meeting, "I hope you get a chance to review the paint colors on the buildings - as sometimes the colors look different from the chips when applied on big surfaces."
That comment could not be more prescient! A BIG thanks goes to the PAUSD Facilities staff for mocking up the colors on the RC building for review. After a minor mix up where the wrong tone was applied to the beams and purlins, Architarian Design had a chance to fine tune the colors and selected a slightly richer, neutral base palette. When the revised final colors were reapplied, thanks to the Facilities teams' contractors, we could not be more pleased with the outcome.
Just as representatives from design and facilities teams were reviewing the second mockup, we heard strong words of approval from several students passing by! We look forward to the seeing the new paint scheme later this year and are grateful to the collaborative and helpful PAUSD facilities team for helping with the mockups, to make this project even better!
Architarian Design will be providing an update to Gunn HS School Site Council on Monday night, April 11, 2016.
